What it pays for
Created by Act 739 of 2026 (SB 143, R.S. 40:2405.2). Money may be used solely for financial assistance to eligible agencies to buy bulletproof vests for commissioned peace officers, with priority to agencies that show a lack of adequate vests. The commission must adopt rules on vest standards.

- New in 2026; funded only by legislative appropriation, donations or grants deposited to the fund. No application cycle published yet.
