Frequently asked questions

Everything buyers and suppliers ask about ArmorList, answered, with a link straight to the page that does the work.

Getting started & accounts8 questions
What is ArmorList?+

ArmorList is the body-armor marketplace and procurement-intelligence platform by IntelAlytic. It is where you research and acquire armor: search the company directory, product catalog, and material index, compare options, and move through the procurement pathway. It is the sibling of ArmorTrack, which manages the armor you already own.

How do I create an account?+

Sign up in a couple of minutes. Pick the buyer (agency) or supplier path, verify your email, and finish the account setup flow. Agencies can start free; suppliers choose a tier on the pricing page.

Do I need an account to browse?+

No. The knowledge pages are open in full: the glossary, standards, state laws, articles, and news. In company, product, and material search you see the first three results and the total, and every company, product, and material page shows its top section: name, image, description, categories, and region. Contacts, documents, export data, and the full result lists need an account, which keeps supplier data out of anonymous scraping. Sign in or create an account to see everything.

I forgot my password.+

On the sign-in screen, click Forgot password?, enter your work email and choose Email me a reset code. We email you a six digit code. Enter it with the password you want from now on, then choose Set new password. You can also skip the password: choose Sign in with an email code instead. Go to sign in

I can’t sign in.+

If you signed up with Google or LinkedIn, use that same button rather than a password. If your password fails, choose Sign in with an email code instead, and we email you a six digit code. If your agency is awaiting verification, you can sign in, but your apps open only once our team approves the agency, and we email you when it does. Still stuck? Contact us and tell us the email you used. Go to sign in

Which email did I sign up with?+

One IntelAlytic account opens ArmorList and ArmorTrack, so it is the email you used on either. If you signed up with Google or LinkedIn, it is that account’s email. To test an address, choose Sign in with an email code instead and enter it: if the screen moves you to Sign up with the address filled in, there is no account under it, so try your other one. Go to sign in

How do I change or cancel my plan, or get invoices?+

Sign in, open the account menu and choose Plan & billing. It shows your plan and the seats in each app. To cancel, switch plan, update your card or download invoices, choose Open billing portal: it opens Stripe, where your payment details are held. You need the billing permission on your account. Verified agencies are free and have no subscription. Go to sign in

How do I manage my team and permissions?+

Anyone with the manage-members permission invites colleagues and chooses each colleague’s permissions in Team & Access; there are no shared logins and no blanket admin role. Personal details, notifications, and security live in Profile Management.

For buyers & agencies5 questions
How do I find armor that meets a spec?+

Use search or filter the catalog by NIJ level, type, and manufacturer. Every listing shows real NIJ CPL status. For AI-graded intelligence beyond the CPL, see Armor Intelligence.

Can I compare products or companies side by side?+

Yes. Add items to Compare from any catalog card or detail page to see specs, standards, availability, and verification lined up column by column.

How do I request a quote?+

Open any product or company profile and use Request a quote. Track every RFI, quote, and order in Quotes & Orders in your account.

A vest we own was damaged. How do I replace it?+

From ArmorTrack, an end-of-life item hands off to Find a Replacement, which drops you into the ArmorList catalog pre-filtered to the matching NIJ level, size, and fit. It is the ArmorTrack → ArmorList seam.

What happens after I place an order?+

When an order completes it can be pushed into ArmorTrack inventory with its verified spec pre-filled, so custody and use-and-care tracking start on day one.

For suppliers & manufacturers5 questions
How do I claim my company profile?+

Find your company in the directory, open the profile, and choose Claim this company. We verify ownership against your domain and government records, and claims go through a reviewed queue.

How do I list or edit products?+

Once claimed, manage everything from the Seller Console, and add or edit models in the Listing Editor. Listings inherit your company verification status.

What do the subscription tiers include?+

Tiers scale from a basic listing to verification, analytics, and Procurement Ready eligibility. See the full breakdown on the pricing page. Verified status is a Professional-tier benefit.

How do I advertise on ArmorList?+

Sponsored placement and branded content are available through Advertise, including profile, category, and homepage-adjacent units.

Where do I fill gaps in my data?+

Your profile and the Document Center flag missing spec sheets, test reports, and documents, sorted by buyer demand, with an in-app way to contribute each one.

The catalog: companies, products & materials4 questions
Where does the catalog data come from?+

Listings are compiled from public and official sources (NIJ CPL, SAM.gov) and commercial records, then enriched. Each field carries a provenance stamp with a source and date. Claimed companies can correct and add to their own data.

What is the difference between a company, product, and material?+

Companies are the manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers. Products are the finished armor models they make. Materials are the ballistic fabrics and hard-armor substrates products are built from, cross-linked both ways.

What does a "data gap" or "restricted" badge mean?+

A data gap is a document or field we do not have yet, and anyone can contribute it. Restricted marks export-controlled information that is withheld by policy, not missing. They are visually distinct so a gap never reads as a policy hold.

I found a duplicate or wrong record. How is that handled?+

Duplicates are collapsed through a reviewed dedupe process, and corrections from claimed owners flow through verification. Use the feedback tab on any page to flag an issue.

Standards & compliance4 questions
Which ballistic standards do you track?+

The Standards Registry tracks the full authority set, NIJ, ASTM, UL, HOSDB/CAST, VPAM, NATO STANAG, and more, with editions and issuing-source links.

What changed with NIJ 0101.07?+

0101.07 (with 0123.00) restructures armor levels, HG1/HG2 for handgun and RF1/RF2/RF3 for rifle. Start at the NIJ 0101.07 hub, compare levels on the threat-level tables, and note 0101.06 stays active pending retirement (est. 2029).

How do I learn the basics of levels, fit, and legality?+

The Standard is our plain-language, cited education layer, covering fit and sizing, materials, legality, and a full glossary.

How do I find RF2 or RF3 compliant models?+

From the NIJ hub or threat table, jump into the catalog pre-filtered by standard and level, e.g. compliant RF2/RF3 rifle plates, ready to compare and quote.

Verification & Procurement Ready4 questions
What is the procurement pathway?+

It is the trust ladder every company moves along: Listed → Claimed → Verified → Procurement Ready. Each stage adds proof. See the full model on the Procurement Pathway page.

What does "Verified" mean?+

Verified means we confirmed the company identity against government and commercial sources. It is a Professional-tier benefit and shows as a blue stage on the profile and its listings.

What is Procurement Ready, and why does it matter?+

Procurement Ready (IA-PR1) is the top credential: identity, compliance, and capability confirmed and cleared for buyer procurement. It carries an official badge and certificate. Buyers can shortlist Procurement Ready suppliers with confidence. See the full model on the Procurement Pathway page.

Do a company’s products inherit its status?+

Yes. When a company reaches a stage, its related products and materials are elevated to a matching relational status, so the credential carries through the catalog.

Data, privacy & security4 questions
Is my account and RFI data private?+

Yes. Your orders, quotes, RFIs, saved lists, and messages are private to your account. Published listings are public to platform users by design; transaction content is shared only between the transacting buyer and seller. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do you keep the platform secure?+

See the Security page and the Trust Center for our security posture, data handling, and compliance roadmap, plus the sub-processors register.

How do you handle cookies and my privacy choices?+

Manage cookie preferences any time from the footer, and review the cookie policy alongside the privacy policy. We honor Global Privacy Control automatically.

Is ArmorList accessible?+

Accessibility is a priority. See our accessibility statement and the conformance report it references.

IRIS & the ArmorTrack connection4 questions
What is IRIS?+

IRIS is IntelAlytic’s assistant, and it is the same IRIS on every IntelAlytic platform: ArmorList, ArmorTrack and the products that follow. Only what it knows changes. On ArmorList it answers from what the site publishes (every page, pricing, the Procurement Pathway and every video) and points you to the page behind the answer, with no account needed. Inside the app it explains every screen. It does not search the catalog or take actions for you yet. Open it from the IRIS button on any page, or from the support hub.

Can IRIS see my private data?+

No. In a signed-out session IRIS only shares public marketplace information and will prompt you to sign in for anything account-specific. It never reveals another user’s or company’s private records.

How does ArmorList connect to ArmorTrack?+

They are separate products that link at two points: a damaged/retired item in ArmorTrack sends you to Find a Replacement in ArmorList, and a completed ArmorList order can push into ArmorTrack inventory with its spec pre-filled. One login, no visual seam.

Where can I see what is new?+

The What's New feed tracks every new listing, certification, supplier, material, standard update, and feature as it enters the platform. Platform status is on the trust pages.

Still not sure? Ask IRIS.
The AI assistant answers from the platform’s pages and help, and takes you straight to the right page.
