The VLT-IIIA is an NIJ Level IIIA certified body armor, characterized by an areal density of 0.91 PSF and a thickness of 0.203 inches. It offers V50 ballistic protection velocities of 1852 FPS against .357 SIG and 1648 FPS against .44 Magnum. The armor is designed to address additional special threats, including criteria set by the FBI 4.1, LAPD, and SOCOM fragmentation standards, providing a comprehensive level of protection against various ballistic and fragmentation threats within its classification.
