NP Aerospace's LASA Handheld Ballistic Shields are engineered using the latest generation of ultra-lightweight, durable, and buoyant composite technology, providing Level III protection according to NIJ 0108.01 standards, plus additional special threat coverage. These shields are designed to offer superior protection against multiple projectile threats including 7.62 x 51mm 149gr M80 FMJ, 5.56 x 45mm 55gr Ball (M193), and 7.62 x 39mm 123gr PS Ball (Mild Steel Core). With an areal density of only 16.0 kg/m^2 and a nominal thickness of 16 mm, they are more than 20% lighter than many alternatives, thus improving user agility and reducing fatigue. Furthermore, these shields are water and rain-resistant, having been tested for ballistic integrity after 24 hours of submersion. Optional lightweight fabric covers in three colors offer adaptability for various operational environments. LASA Ballistic Shields can also be customized to specific sizes, with added features like shooter’s curves and ballistic viewing windows to meet diverse requirements.
