MP96 is a high-purity alumina ceramic engineered for demanding hard-armor applications. With 96% alumina content, the material delivers increased hardness and mechanical strength while maintaining a relatively low density of 3.78 g/cm³. Its Vickers hardness of 1277 HV5 provides strong resistance to penetration and abrasion, while a modulus of rupture of 320 MPa and elastic modulus of 330 GPa support excellent structural integrity under load. High fracture toughness (35 MN·m⁻³ᐟ²) and a sound velocity of 10,220 m/s further enhance MP96’s performance in advanced armor systems, making it well suited for lightweight, high-efficiency ballistic protection where durability and energy dissipation are critical.
